About This Tool

This advanced PDF compressor intelligently reduces file size by optimizing embedded images while preserving text quality. Unlike basic compressors that convert everything to images, this tool analyzes your PDF and only recompresses what will actually benefit from compression.

The tool also optimizes PDF structure, removes unnecessary metadata, and can linearize your document for faster web viewing. All processing happens locally in your browser — your files never leave your device.

Perfect for reducing large scanned documents, photo-heavy PDFs, or any file that needs to be emailed or uploaded to size-restricted forms.

FAQ

Why did my file get bigger?
This can happen with already-optimized PDFs or text-only documents. The tool will warn you if compression isn't recommended. Try using "Original" resolution in Advanced Options.

What's the difference between the compression levels?
Low preserves the most quality (85% image quality, original resolution). Medium balances size and quality (70%, 150 DPI). High prioritizes smallest size (50%, 100 DPI).

Will text become blurry?
No. Text in PDFs is stored as vector data and isn't affected by image compression. Only embedded images (photos, scans, graphics) are recompressed.

What does "Optimize for web" do?
It linearizes the PDF so the first page can display before the entire file downloads. Useful if you're publishing PDFs online.

Is my data safe?
Yes. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device or gets uploaded to any server.
