The Reorder Pages tool changes the sequence of pages in a PDF without adding or removing anything. It is most often needed after scanning: two-sided documents scanned on a single-sided scanner come out with fronts and backs interleaved incorrectly, a dropped stack gets refed in the wrong order, or separately scanned batches end up combined in the wrong sequence. It is equally useful for restructuring, such as moving a summary to the front of a report or an appendix to the back.
Every page renders as a thumbnail you can drag into position, with the same drag and drop working by touch on phones and tablets. A number badge on each page shows its position in the new order, moved pages are highlighted, and a status line confirms whether the current arrangement differs from the original, so there is no ambiguity about what the output will contain.
When the order looks right, applying the change builds a new PDF on your device with the pages in their new sequence. Page content, formatting, fonts, and images are unchanged. The output is named after your original file, and the original itself is never modified, with a Reset Order button available at any point before applying.
As with every PDFGadget tool, the document is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which matters when the file being reorganized is a contract, a medical record, or client paperwork.
Reordering keeps every page and changes only the sequence. If some pages should not be in the document at all, such as blank scans or duplicates, use Remove Pages instead. If you only need a portion of the document as its own file, Extract Pages pulls those pages out directly, and Split PDF divides one document into several files.

Does reordering alter the content or formatting of my pages?
No. Only the sequence of the pages changes. Each page is copied into the new document exactly as it is, so fonts, images, links, and layout are untouched.
How do I move a page on a phone or tablet?
Press and hold a page thumbnail, then drag it to its new position and release. The drag and drop works with touch in any modern mobile browser, the same way it works with a mouse on desktop.
Can I undo my changes before applying them?
Yes. The Reset Order button puts every page back in its original position at any time before you apply. And because the tool always outputs a new file, your original document is never modified either way.
How can I tell which pages I have moved?
Each thumbnail carries a number badge showing its current position in the new order, pages that are no longer in their original spot are highlighted, and a status line above the grid confirms whether the order has changed.
Why is my scanned PDF out of order in the first place?
The most common cause is two-sided scanning on a single-sided scanner, where the fronts are scanned in one pass and the backs in another, interleaving the pages incorrectly. Dropped paper stacks, refed jams, and combining separately scanned batches produce the same result.
Do you receive a copy of the PDF I reorder?
No. The page thumbnails are rendered and the new document is assembled by JavaScript running on your own device. No copy of the file exists anywhere except your computer or phone, before, during, or after.
