Merging combines whole documents in the order you arrange them. If the pages inside the merged result need rearranging afterward, Reorder Pages handles that at the page level. If what you're combining are photos or scans rather than PDFs, Image to PDF builds the document directly from the images.
Two common follow-ups: if the merged file comes out large, shrink it with Compress PDF before emailing, and if it contains sensitive material, lock it with Password Protect before sharing.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDFs never leave your device or get uploaded to any server.
Is there a limit to how many PDF files I can merge?
There's no strict limit, but for best performance we recommend merging up to 20 files at a time, especially on mobile devices. For very large jobs, merge in smaller batches and then merge those results together.
Can I merge PDFs on my phone or tablet?
Yes. PDFGadget works on all modern browsers, including Chrome and Safari on iOS and Android. No app required, and the cards reorder by touch the same way they do with a mouse.
What happens to the file order?
Files appear in the final PDF in the order shown on screen. Each card carries a number badge for its position, and you can drag the cards into any order before merging.
Can I merge password protected PDFs?
Only if they open without asking for a password. If a file requires a password, open it in your PDF reader first, save an unlocked copy, and merge that copy instead.
Does merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?
No. Pages are copied into the merged document without recompressing images or altering content. What goes in comes out at the same quality, with no watermarks added.
